Derby and Joan are two fading Artistes in a care home for ageing Queers in reduced circumstances. Dressed to kill, riddled with acerbic wit and politically incorrect ravings. Which bitch will win the day?

Philip Patston, New Zealand's national treasure and acclaimed sit down stand up comedian and raconteur pairs up with the UK’s infamous madwoman, Julie McNamara in this scratch performance of their new show.

After selling out in 2007 the Feast Comedy Gayla is back! This year it’s double the laughs spread out over two hilarious nights! Hosted by Lori Bell, Feast has brought together a top line up of queer stand-ups who are sure to put a BIG smile on your face. Boasting some of the best international, national and local queer comics the line-up includes Lea DeLaria (USA), Julie McNamara (UK), Philip Patston (NZ), Brayden (aka Selina Jenkins) (VIC), Monica Dullard (VIC), Glace Chase (NSW), Helen Child (WA) and Adelaide’s own Andrea O’Shea, Hans and Whitney Oates* So come on, get a giggle on! *Please note - line - up will vary for each performance.

A world first for Feast 2008 bringing together over 50 activists, artists, researchers, writers, film makers, performers, idealists, realists, dreamers, radicals, visionaries and amazing presenters from Adelaide, Australia and the world.
36 different presentations offering as wide an audience as possible the chance hear what GLBTQ thinkers are thinking, writing, inspired by and passionate about, for conversations that energise and inspire.

2006:

Julie was guest Performance Poet on 19 March at De Vere Heron’s Reach Hotel, Blackpool at the Social Care Association (SCA) Annual Seminar.

Julie compered for the evening of March 23rd at MIMOSA Club, Arcadea (formerly NorDAF), at Caedmon Hall, Gateshead , Newcastle.

On Friday March 24th as part of the Wotever Xtravaganza, Hackney Empire with Trish Sweeney, as Prairie Drags!

May 18,19,20 : Julie McNamara and Caglar Kimyoncu presented Pig Tales at ‘Art of Difference’ conference — Gas Works Arts, Albert Park, Victoria, Australia. Friday 19th May Workshop: ‘The D word’ on Difference and Disability Politics, surfing the periphery, and a Workshop with Julie McNamara and Caglar Kimyoncu: ‘Disability Culture, Self Identity and Politics’ Also May 19th, they presented Pig Tales at 8 pm in Gas Works Theatre, Albert Park.

14th July Performance and Presentation at Full Circle Arts, Manchester

August onwards worked as Disability Arts Ambassador to Arcadea, Newcastle and New Writing North.

29,30 November and 1,6 and 7 December, Theatre workshops and script in hand readings: Fluff by Sophie Partridge and Pig's Sister by Julie McNamara at The Alima, Sefton Park, Liverpool as part of DaDa Festival.

4 December Julie McNamara headlines at The Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton to celebrate International Day of Disabled people.

9 December, Julie McNamara and Trish Sweeney bow out. One last gig as Prairie Drags - a little bit country, a little bit bless my soul. Two cowboys from marble mountain in search of girls in gingham. Una's 50th at The Hemingford Arms, Islington.

23 to 27 December Julie McNamara and Andrew Risner hold the fort at The Grange for a wild and wacky Christmas retreat into comedy and celebration.

 

2007:

Look out for Pig Tales at Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal in May and a national tour of Pig Tales in Autumn this year.
